WoW: Forever is Aiming for a 4-Month Patch Cadence
In an interview with IGN, Kris Zierhut announced that they are looking at a 4-month patch cadence for WoW: Forever.

IGN WoW: Forever Interview
IGN asked Blizzard in an interview about the patch cadence of WoW: Forever. Kris Zierhut, Principal Game Designer, commented that they have experimented a lot with the Patch cadence throughout Classic, and with SoD, they did a patch every eight to ten weeks, which felt way too fast. They believe that the correct release cadence for patches is about one every 4 months or 17 weeks.
Kris ZierhutAnd then one nuance on that is we do plan on making content that unlocks in between. So you might have patches with major releases four months apart, but there may be things that unlock two or three months in or one month into that.
Since they're focusing on smaller, more local stories, they believe that 4 months is an appropriate amount of development time. PvP Seasons will also match this and last for 4 months. However, he mentions that additional things might unlock within the major 4-month patches. The patch won't launch with everything released, but things will slowly unlock over 4 months to give things more of a lifespan.
