Privacy
What this site does with your data.
Exousia is a small, fan-run guild site — this is the plain version, not a legal document. If anything here doesn't cover your question, just ask in Discord.
Signing in with Discord
Signing in uses Discord's own login (OAuth) — we never see your password. We receive your Discord ID, username, avatar, and whether you're a member (and officer) of the Exousia Discord server. That's used to show you the members' area and, for admins, the admin console — nothing more.
Signing in also creates a private, personal calendar link (for subscribing to raid nights in your own calendar app) and records the date of your visit, so the dashboard can show you what's new since you were last here.
Cookies
Two, both required for the site to work — nothing optional, nothing for tracking or advertising, so there's no cookie banner here to click through. exousia_session keeps you signed in; exousia_oauth_state exists only for the few seconds of the Discord sign-in itself, as a security check, and then expires. Neither is shared with anyone or used to track you elsewhere.
Stats the site shows you
Once you're signed in, the site shows stats the Discord bot already keeps for every server member — XP, gold, mounts, achievement points, and similar counters — plus your World of Warcraft character data from Blizzard's own Armory API. None of this is collected by the site itself; it's already there, and the site just displays it to signed-in members. Your message text and voice chat are never shown to other members, only to admins for moderation.
Applying to join
The application form doesn't require signing in, so it's the one place the site collects information directly: the character name, realm, class, role(s), your Discord username, raid availability, and anything you choose to write in the "about you" field. This is visible only to guild officers reviewing applications, and is used only to decide on — and follow up about — your application.
Submitting the form briefly uses your IP address to stop spam (a short-lived limit on how often one connection can submit) — it's never stored alongside your application or anywhere else.
Contacting us
The contact form works the same way — no sign-in, so it's another place the site collects information directly: your name, email address, and whatever you write. It's posted straight to a private officers-only Discord channel so someone can reply, and (like applications) briefly uses your IP address the same way, purely to stop spam.
What we don't do
No ads, no analytics that track you across other sites, no selling or sharing data with anyone outside the guild's own officers. Character links, admin actions and sign-ins are recorded in an activity log so admin access can be audited — that log never stores IP addresses.
Your data, your say
You can ask to see what's held about you, have anything incorrect fixed, or have your application or account data deleted — message an officer in the Exousia Discord. Signing out and disconnecting the Discord app from your account (in your Discord settings) stops the site seeing anything new about you.
